As it Stands
Heading into the Austrian Grand Prix, the championship battle seems to have reached a standstill. As Max Verstappen seems to be coursing to yet another win, P2 is where all the action and drama is really at. Sergio Perez looks like he’s been struggling the last couple races; Fernando Alonso has been on a roll. He’s been on the podium 6 times out of 8 this year — and doesn’t look like he’ll be stopping anytime soon. Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes is trailing close behind in P4 with the Mercedes car making big strides in the last couple races. According to Toto Wolff, Team Principal of Mercedes they’re just getting started with the upgrades and there’s a lot more to come.
All About the Track
With the short track bringing in lots of excitement at Austria, it’ll be all about power as the cars blast through three straights separated by uphill right-handers, for the first half of the track. As the cars make their way downhill in the second half, the cars whiz past a series of quick corners and push to the absolute limit.
If you’re a fan of the Red team, sorrows and prayers. Unlike their logo, the team is not prancing in the least. The championship contenders that they were last year, this year are barely in the Top 3. Or even a Mclaren who are not really where they’d like to be!
Hang in there - because as they say in sport, it ain’t over, until it’s over.
