Football to Formula 1: Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Claim 24% Stake In Alpine

After conquering the football world with Wrexham AFC, Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds and his business partner Rob McElhenney have now made a significant investment in Formula 1 team Alpine. The deal, which is reportedly worth €200 million, gives the two of them a solid 24% stake in the F1 team. A different kind of Proposal for Reynolds!

The French racing team Alpine - with Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon as their main drivers, has been competing in Formula One since 1977, winning two Drivers' Championships and one Constructors' Championship. In recent years however, they have been struggling (as you might have seen when watching races, or on Drive To Survive!), with the last victory coming in Hungary, in 2021.

Definitely, Maybe?

With luck and grit on Reynolds and McElhenney's side, they will hope for a complete turn-around - on and off track. We cannot wait to have the duo’s collective humor in the paddocks. Especially given they both love the sport and are apparently excited to be more involved in it. Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi, will be hoping to leverage their fame to attract more fans, and of course, new sponsors.

Who knows, with the sport’s popularity rising in the United States, we may get yet another race there. Hollywood street circuit, maybe?
